| There are 30 species of Shrike throughout the World. In Britain only three species are annual and none of them breed here. Red-backed Shrike is a rare annual passage bird and Woodchat Shrike an annual vagrant to these shores. Great Grey Shrikes over winter here in very small numbers. Lesser Grey, Isabelline, Brown, Long-tailed, Southern Grey and Masked Shrikes are very rare vagrants. | ||
